Dedication/Wetdown for new Engine 3 - Pierce Arrow 2000 GPM pumper. See www.wpfd-ridgerunners.com for more information. From everyone at Fire & Safety Services, we wish all to have a Happy and Safe 4th of July weekend. At the recent sales meeting in Appleton Wisconsin, Fire & Safety Services was named Pierce Manufacturing’s Dealer of the Year. This is the fourth time Fire & Safety Services has won this coveted award. This is an award open to the more than 30 dealer organizations and is based on both sales and service ratings. In appreciation of it’s employees efforts, Fire & Safety Services recently held an Appreciation Banquet for all of its employees and their significant others in the banquet room at Tavern on the Lake in Hightstown, NJ. Over 60 people attended including David McAlice, the Regional Vice President for Pierce Manufacturing. Come visit the Fire & Safety Services booth (booth 1015) at the Police Security Expo at the Atlantic City Convention Center on June 22 and 23, 2010. While they will be promoting all of their product lines, they will be showcasing two new products to the police and security markets. The first is the Oshkosh Defense Group’s Tactical Protector Vehicle (TPV), a civilian service version of the Oshkosh Defense’s Sandcat product. “This is a great small scale armored vehicle ideal for rapid deployment in any urban/suburban environment. This product was effectively used at the G-20 Summit that recently occurred in Pittsburgh in September 2009,” noted Eric Trevena, a Fire & Safety Service’s Law Enforcement Group salesman. In addition, Pierce will be displaying a 6.1 meter D-Tube Sealegs Amphibious Craft. “This product is a great multi-functional product ideal for the rapid response needed in uncertain terrain found in such circumstances as flash flooding like in Arkansas recently, as well as rescue and recovery missions such as went on with Hurricane Katrina and many of the harsh Nor’easters that batter the Atlantic Coast,” comments William Russell, head of Fire & Safety Services’ Marine Division. Now that the nights are getting longer, and we have Sprung ahead, it can only mean one thing… Show season is fast approaching… As I write this we are fine tuning our show plans for the year… It is amazing that FDIC is less than weeks away! Then May 21-23 brings us the Fire Expo show in Harrisburg, PA - a wonderful regional show and the the Pierce booth is excellently managed and laid out by the gang at Glick Fire. Always nice to be able to support them at this show. June 22-23 will have us at the Police & Security Expo in Atlantic City, one of the largest shows in this region for this industry. We are finalizing our booth design, but I’m looking forward to the show and getting Sealegs Amphibious Marine Craft and the new TPV from Oshkosh Defense introduced to the local market as well as continuing to improve Pierce’s, Frontline’s, and Metalcraft Marine fire and patrol boats’ presence in the law enforcement market. The “Dog Days of Summer” bring the Firehouse Expo in Baltimore in July and the FRI show in Chicago in August… and then we wrap it up with our own Firefighter’s convention in September along the boardwalk in Wildwood. If you are at one of the shows, please stop by and say “Hi”… it is always a pleasure to talk to our customers - past, present, and future. Dave Fire & Safety Services and Joseph Getsinger announce that Fire & Safety Services has agreed to be the proud sponsor for the 10th year in a row for the Burn Foundation fundraiser that occurs during the New Jersey Firefighter’s Convention in Wildwood. Fire & Safety has agreed to sponsor the 2010 painting tentatively titled “Fire Academy II” which is raffled off during the Convention. All proceeds fo the raffle go to the Burn Foundation, a Philadelphia based organization that aids burn victims and educational programs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Says Fire & Safety President David Russell, “It is a great honor and pleasure to be asked by Joe Getsinger to be involved in this project again. The Burn Foundation does wonderful work and we are pleased to be able to help out in this way.” The sponsorship helps cover the artist’s expenses for canvas, printing and set up costs for the original canvas and prints that are produced. The original canvas is donated to the Burn Foundation and it is raffled during the events and the winner chosen at the close of the convention on Saturday afternoon. This worthwhile event has traditionally raised anywhere between $15-$30,000 for the Burn Foundation. For more information on the artist please visit jgetsingerart.com For more information on the Burn Foundation and its programs please visit burnfoundation.org It is with great pleasure that we announce Fire & Safety Services’ new agreement to represent Sealegs Amphibious Craft. We are the first dedicated rescue dealer in the States for Sealegs and look forward to establishing their name and product in the rescue market. The product is truly revolutionary - a rigid hull inflatable boat that has three wheels that can retract at the flip of a switch to allow for either road or water operation. I have been been a passenger in these boats on both choppy water and smooth and the experience is amazing… No more hopping out of boats in knee deep water to pull it ashore… Just lower the wheels and drive it on the beach. This is an ideal tool for those flood ravages areas of New Jersey where you aren’t really sure where your next obstacle may be beneath you. operate the boat with the front wheel down and when you feel the ground, drop the rear and drive… For more information please contact our office or check out www.sealegs.com. We are currently working on getting demonstration models for the spring and will try to schedule demonstrations throughout the state. If interested, please send an e-mail to sales@f-ss.com with your contact information and we will contact you when we are having a demonstration in your area. Just a brief note to all of you… I and everyone at Fire & Safety Services, wishes you the happiest and safest of holidays and a wonderful new year! Dave Russell |
